The State Board of Mortuary Arts mission is to ensure that licensees perform their professional services in a manner providing maximum protection of the health, safety and welfare for the people of Kansas.  The governor appoints five members.  Three of the members shall hold an embalmer’s license and have a minimum of five consecutive years’ practice of embalming and shall be currently engaged in the practice of embalming and in care of and disposition of dead human bodies in Kansas.  Two members shall represent the general public.
