The Kansas Volunteer Commission prepares a national service plan for the state. They ensure outreach to diverse community-based agencies. The Commission administers certain grant programs. Board members come from several different categories: youth education, seniors, local government, labor, business, youth 18-25, and a national service program representative. Board members are also to be diverse with respect to race, ethnicity, age, gender, etc.
