Certificates and Awards

Governor Colyer is pleased to recognize individuals for their contributions to the State of Kansas. The goal is to recognize those Kansans who have made significant impacts in our State.

  • Certificates are issued only to Kansas residents
  • The honoree must have made a direct contribution to Kansas
  • The nominee may not be the same as the nominator
  • The Governor’s office reserves the right to rescind a certificate if false or misleading information is provided in the nomination application.
  • Certificate request must be made 4 weeks prior to the date needed.  If submitted with less than 4 weeks our office cannot guarantee processing.

Special Occasion Letters

Governor Colyer is please to recognize birthday, anniversaries, retirements, Boy Scout / Girl Scout acknowledgments.  Below, please find general guidelines used by the Governor’s office when considering special occasion requests.

  • Birthdays over the age of 75
  • Anniversaries to couple who are celebrating their 50th or subsequent anniversary
  • Retirements, including military service
  • Eagle Scout and Gold Award recognition
  • Special occasion letters must be made 4 weeks prior to the date needed.  If submitted with less than 4 weeks our office cannot guarantee processing.

Greeting Letters

Governor Colyer is pleased to provide letters of greetings to be used in programs, brochures, and other publications for events taking place in Kansas.  Governor Colyer enjoys the opportunity to welcome visitors and share his enthusiasm for the State of Kansas and its many attributes.  The decision to write these letters is completely at the desecration of the Governor and his staff.  They reserve the right to deny requests for greeting at any time.

To request a greeting message please submit your request at least 30 days prior to the printing or event deadline. To request a certificate complete the online request form or mail a request to:

Autograph & Photography Requests

If you would like web-ready or print ready photographs of the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, First Lady or members of the Cabinet, you can access them on our official portrait page. If you had a picture taken with the Governor at an official event, please email media@ks.gov for a digital copy.

If you would like to request an autograph from Governor Colyer, please contact csr@ks.gov with “autograph request” in the subject line. You can also request an autograph by U.S. Mail at:
