The following statement is from Governor Laura Kelly regarding the passage of the border war bill:
“For years, Kansas and Missouri have irresponsibly spent economic development resources luring jobs back and forth across the border with little actual job growth for either state.
“We’re encouraged by the renewed spirit of cooperation and collaboration between the two states. The recent joint proposal to attract United States Department of Agriculture operations to the Kansas City metro area is a prime example of progress on that front.
“We need to work together, and not be at odds, when it comes to bringing businesses to the region.”
