In accordance with Executive Order #20-30, Governor Laura Kelly today ordered flags throughout the city of Overland Park, Kansas, to be flown at half-staff tomorrow, Wednesday, September 8, 2021, from sunup to sundown, in honor of Overland Park Police Officer Freddie Castro, who died from COVID-19-related medical complications.

“I want to offer my sincere condolences to the family and loved ones of Officer Freddie Castro – my thoughts are with them and the entire Overland Park community during this difficult time,” Governor Laura Kelly said. “We owe Officer Castro a great debt of gratitude for his commitment to his community. He will be missed.”
