In accordance with Executive Order 20-30, Governor Laura Kelly has directed U.S. flags to be lowered at half-staff throughout the state of Kansas beginning Tuesday, April 20, until the day of interment, in honor of former Vice President of the United States Walter Mondale. Mondale served as Vice President to President Jimmy Carter from 1977 to 1981.

“I send my sincerest condolences to the family, friends, and all those mourning the loss of Vice President Walter Mondale,” Governor Kelly said. “Throughout his career, Vice President Mondale worked tirelessly to promote equity and peace for all Americans. His legacy as a dedicated public servant deserves to be honored and remembered.”
