Governor Laura Kelly today announced appointments to the following state boards and commissions.

Kansas Hispanic and Latino American Affairs Commission

The executive director of the commission may appoint, subject to the approval of the commission and the governor, technical advisors and assistants to develop, assist and cooperate with local Hispanic commissions.

Kansas Senior Care Task Force

The purpose of this task force is to study the following topics: provision of care for Kansas seniors who suffer from Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, or other age-related mental health conditions; administration of antipsychotic medication to adult care home residents; safeguards to prevent abuse, neglect, and exploitation of seniors in the state; adult care home surveys and fines; funding and implementation of the Senior Care Act; senior daycare resources in the state; and rebalancing of home and community-based services.

State Use Law Committee

The purpose of this committee is to advise the director of purchases on issues surrounding the purchase of products and services provided by blind or disabled persons.

911 Coordinating Council

The purpose of this council is to monitor the delivery of 911 services, develop strategies for future enhancements to the 911 system and distribute available grant funds to Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs).
