Governor Laura Kelly today announced appointments to Kansas state boards and commissions. 

Governor’s Behavioral Health Services Planning Council

The purpose of the Council is to advise the Governor on adult, adolescent, and children’s services issues. It also review the Block Grant Plan and makes recommendations; serves as an advocate for adults with a serious mental illness, children with a serious emotional disturbance and other individuals with mental illnesses or substance use disorders; and monitors, reviews, and evaluates the allocation and adequacy of services within the State

Kansas Pet Animal Advisory Board

The purpose of the Pet Animal Advisory Board is to make recommendations concerning the rules and regulations for the KS Pet Animal Act.

Kansas Sentencing Commission

The Commission develops a sentencing guideline model or grid based on fairness and equity and shall provide a mechanism for linking justice and corrections policies.

Occupational Therapist Council

The purpose of the Council is to provide for and conduct all examinations, determine the applicants who successfully pass the exam, duly register such applicants, and adopt rules and regulations to administer K.S.A. 65-5405.

State Board of Pharmacy

The purpose of the Board is to license and register entities conducting business relating to the practice of pharmacy and protect public health and welfare against unprofessional, improper, and unauthorized practice of pharmacy.

State Board of Technical Professions

The Board registers and licenses engineers, architects, surveyors, and landscape architects.
