Governor Kelly announces three Court of Appeals finalists
Governor Laura Kelly announced today the three finalists selected by the Court of Appeals nominating committee. She will select her choice to fill the Court of Appeals vacancy before March 15, 2019. Her choice is subject to Senate confirmation.
Three Court of Appeals finalists:
Jeffry Jack – Jack has been a district court judge in Labette County since 2005. He earned his undergraduate degree in anthropology from Harvard and his law degree from the University of Kansas. He also served in the Kansas House of Representatives.
Sarah Warner – Warner is currently an attorney at Thompson Warner, P.A., in Lawrence. She is also the president of the Kansas Bar Association. She graduated from the University of Kansas and received her law degree from Ave Maria School of Law in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Marcia Wood – Wood is currently a partner with the Martin, Pringle, Oliver, Wallace and Bauer LLP in Wichita. Previously, she clerked for the U.S. District Judge Frank G. Theis. She received her undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Kansas.
