In accordance with Executive Order 10-12, and in recognition of Patriot Day, September 11, 2019, Governor Laura Kelly has ordered flags throughout the State of Kansas to be flown at half-staff on September 11. President Donald J. Trump also issued a flag directive honoring Patriot Day as a day to remember the individuals who lost their lives on September 11, 2001.

“Today, my thoughts are with all of the families and friends of those who were killed or injured during the attacks on September 11, 2001, including many first responders. They are in our hearts,” Kelly said. “But even as the resilience and unity of our country was challenged, our people rose up to meet that challenge. Thank you to all of our state’s first responders and emergency workers who continue to make our communities, our state and our country a better, safer place to live.”
