Governor Laura Kelly appointed Keith Stevens and Dr. Nancy Snyder to the Wichita State University Board of Trustees.

“Students, professors and administrators in higher education deserve to know that university funds are managed appropriately,” Kelly said. “Keith and Nancy both have years of experience in budgeting and finance, and are dedicated to ensuring that all funds will be used to the benefit of university students and officials. I am pleased to have them on the team.”

Keith Stevens, Wichita, currently works as the executive vice president for Southwest National Bank, and is also on the bank’s board of directors. Previously, he was the president of Tele-Systems, Inc. Stevens received a Master of Business Administration from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business, and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Oklahoma University.

Dr. Nancy Snyder, Wichita, currently retired. Previously, she worked as the director for the Hugo Wall School of Public Affairs at Wichita State University. Prior, she worked as the associate vice president for Academic Affairs and Research, and director of High Learning Commission Reaccreditation at Wichita State. Snyder received a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Clarke College, a Master of Science and a doctorate degree in economics, both from Southern Illinois University.

The board supports the educational undertakings of Wichita State University by managing property, estate, and other funds that have been given, transferred and pledged to the university.

The governor appoints all nine members of the board. Her appointments are not subject to Senate confirmation.
