Governor Laura Kelly appointed Cindy Volanti, Manhattan, to the Workers Compensation and Employment Security Boards Nominating Committee.

“People who are injured at work, employers, health care providers and insurance carriers in Kansas all deserve timely, impartial and fair resolutions during workers compensation claims,” Kelly said. “Cindy’s experience in human resources and business management will give her insight into who is qualified to best serve on the workers compensation and employment security boards. We are fortunate to have her on our team.”

Cindy Volanti, Manhattan, currently works as the human resource manager for Riley County. Previously, she worked as Riley County’s administrative account analyst. Volanti received an associate’s degree in science from Cloud County Community College, a certificate in data processing from the Manhattan Area Vocational-Technical School and a dual bachelor’s degree in general business management and human resource management from Kansas State University.

“I look forward to working with Cindy Volanti and members of the nominating committee as they make important recommendations to labor and work comp boards,” Secretary of Labor Delía García said.

The committee makes nominations pertaining to vacant positions in the Workers Compensation Division, the Workers Compensation Review Board and the Employment Security Board of Review.

The committee is composed of seven members, all appointed by the governor.
