Governor Laura Kelly appointed Robert Marx to the Kansas State Board of Tax Appeals.

The board’s mission is to impartially resolve disputes between taxpayers and taxing authorities. It also reviews tax exemption decisions made by local governments, grievances resulting from technical errors and corrects tax inequities.

“Robert brings a long career of meaningful experience to the table,” Kelly said. “I have no doubt he will act impartially and thoughtfully to ensure tax fairness for all Kansans.”

Marx, Fairway, has been appointed as the appraiser member of the board. Marx is president and senior member of Bliss Associates, LLC, the oldest and one of the largest appraisals and consulting firms in the Midwest. He has 43 years of experience as a professional appraiser across all property types.

The governor’s appointment is subject to confirmation by the Senate.
