Governor Kelly appointed Dawn Buehler, Eudora, to the Advisory Committee on Regulation of Oil and Gas Activities.
The committee serves to review and make recommendations on oil-and-gas activities, including current drilling methods, geologic formation standards, plugging techniques, casing and cementing standards and materials, along with matters pertaining to the protection of waters in the state from pollution related to oil-and-gas activities.
“As Kansas Riverkeeper, Dawn has valuable knowledge of a wide array of water issues,” Kelly said. “She’ll be a solid contributor on the committee.”
Buehler, Eudora, currently serves as Kansas Riverkeeper and Executive Director for the Friends of the Kaw. Previously, she worked for the Douglas County Conservation District. She received her Bachelor of Science in Natural Resources from Oregon State University and a Bachelor of Business Accounting from Baker University.
The governor’s appointments to the committee are not subject to Senate confirmation.
