Governor Kelly Announces
Administration Appointments 


TOPEKA
– Today, Governor Laura Kelly announced 7 appointments and 3 reappointments to the following state boards and commissions.

911 Coordinating Council
Purpose: To monitor the delivery of 911 services, develop strategies for future enhancements to the 911 system and distribute available grant funds to PSAPS.

  • Michael Daniels, Gardner
  • Doug Ritter, Meade

Kansas Animal Health Board
Purpose: To act as an advisory board to the Livestock Commission.

  • Megan Potter, Abilene (reappointment)
  • David Worrel, Andover (reappointment)
  • Tara Dillow, Erie

Board of Examiners in Optometry
Purpose: To administer and enforce the provisions of Kansas Optometry Law so that the highest quality of eye care is provided to the citizens of Kansas.

  • Dr. Philip Walters, McPherson
  • Dr. Dawn Bircher, Overland Park (reappointment)

Capitol Preservation Committee
Purpose:  To approve all proposals for renovation of all areas of the state capitol, the capitol’s visitor center and the grounds surrounding the capitol.

  • Joe Brentano, Kansas City
  • Anthony Hensley, Topeka

Kansas Commission on Disability Concerns
Purpose: The Kansas Commission on Disability Concerns’ (KCDC) vision is that all people with disabilities are entitled to be equal citizens and equal partners in Kansas society
